If the returns need recruits, it’s not investing
A 12-level referral tree paying 8% direct plus overrides needs deposits to roughly double every few months — forever. Draw the tree on paper: level 12 of even a modest branching factor is millions of people. When the pitch spends more slides on recruiting than on revenue, the recruits are the revenue.
Check it yourself: ask for the contract’s referral function and count the depth. Anything past 3 levels funding “returns” is a structure problem, not a strategy.

“Locked liquidity” takes 30 seconds to verify
Open the project’s pool on the relevant explorer, find the LP tokens, and check who holds them and whether a timelock contract does. If the deployer wallet holds unlocked LP tokens, they can drain the pool in one transaction — as happened in two of our High-risk cases this quarter.
Rule: unlocked liquidity + anonymous team = do not proceed without a full dossier.
